A few months ago I wrote a short story called "The Proverbial Sting" which I suspected would sit on my computer until I pieced together another collection. On a whim, I sent it to a publisher called Gypsum Sound Tales because they were doing an anthology called Deserts & Desserts. I figured because my story takes place in the desert, they might consider it.
When it comes to submitting short stories, it's always a strange game to play because you're never sure what will stick and what won't. It's difficult to explain. Anyway, they took the story. We don't have a publication date at this time.
Other projects:
As of right now, there are a few things floating around. I'm still waiting to hear back about the Bad Spirits anthology and about the Home Sweet Horror one. Unfortunately, this is a slow moving business and these things often take time.
I've seen the artwork for my kids book, which is coming along nicely. We are still very early in that process and I don't expect to have it done for a few months.
The Paramnesia anthology is going into audio. I don't have any more information on that right now, but I'm eagerly checking my email for updates. If you haven't checked it out, you absolutely should.
Submitting:
Lately I haven't been submitting much for the short story marker. Instead, I've been focused on my novel "Without Saying Goodbye". Currently it's on its fifth draft. I'm not sure how many there will be total, but I've decided that I am going to try publishing this one with a publishing company or an agent. As I've said before, I've been self-publishing for a long time and I don't feel that I'm getting what I want out of it, so I'm trying an alternative route.
